Connect your portfolio to ChatGPT and Claude (MCP)
HADL is an investment tracking app: it merges accounts from every broker and crypto exchange into one portfolio and calculates your real return on it. This guide covers how to hand that portfolio to an external AI assistant and what it can do with it.
HADL is the first Russian investment tracker that connects to Claude and ChatGPT via MCP (Model Context Protocol). Once connected, the assistant can see your portfolio and work with it on your commands: answer questions about returns and payouts, add trades, import broker reports, and build target allocations. Every change requires your explicit confirmation in the chat.

What the AI assistant can do
Answer questions in plain language
No need to hunt for the right screen or set up filters — just ask:
- "How much did my bonds earn this year?"
- "What coupons and dividends arrive next month?"
- "What's dragging my returns down?"
- "Compare my portfolio to the plan — where did I drift?"
The assistant reads your actual holdings, operations and target allocations, and answers with your real data.
Import any broker's report
The killer feature. HADL natively imports reports from major Russian brokers — but there are far more brokers and formats in the world. That's no longer a blocker: send the assistant any broker's report file — xlsx, html, pdf, or even a custom csv.
The assistant parses the file itself: finds trades, deposits, coupons, dividends, fees, taxes, bond redemptions and amortizations, reconciles the totals against the report, shows you a summary — and only books the operations after your explicit "yes". If anything goes wrong, the whole import rolls back with one command.
What the import covers:
- buys and sells with fees and accrued coupon interest (ACI) on bonds;
- coupons, dividends and withheld taxes;
- bond redemptions and partial nominal amortizations;
- opening positions — when the report covers only part of the account's history;
- cash deposits and withdrawals.
Add trades from screenshots
Screenshot a trade in your broker's app and send it to the assistant: "add this to HADL". It recognizes the ticker, quantity, price and date, shows a preview, and books the operation after confirmation.
Build a portfolio from a description
Describe your strategy in words — "a conservative 1M portfolio: 50% government and corporate bonds, 30% dividend stocks, 20% gold and money market funds" — and the assistant picks the instruments, lays out the weights and saves the allocation in HADL. The rebalancing module takes it from there.
Screen for ideas
MOEX stock and bond screeners are available to the assistant directly: "find bonds yielding above 20% maturing before 2028", "show dividend stocks with P/E below 5". Same data as in HADL, no delays.
How to connect
You'll need the Basic or Premium plan (the trial period works too).
- Open Settings → AI assistants and press "Issue token". Save the connection URL — it is shown only once.
- Claude (web or app): Settings → Connectors → "Add custom connector" → paste the connection URL.
- ChatGPT: enable developer mode (Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced → Developer mode), then add a connector with the same URL.
- Start a chat: "show my HADL portfolio".
Security
The connection is designed so the AI cannot harm your portfolio even in theory:
- A dedicated AI-only token. It works exclusively for the MCP connection and grants no access to the rest of the HADL API. A leaked token opens neither your login, nor settings, nor data export.
- Every change requires confirmation. The assistant first shows a preview of exactly what will be recorded, and only books it after your explicit "yes". Swapping the data between preview and confirmation is technically impossible.
- Any import can be undone. The assistant's operations are grouped into batches — "undo the last import" removes everything at once.
- One-click revocation. Issuing a new token instantly revokes the previous one; access can be removed on the same settings page.
FAQ
What is MCP? Model Context Protocol — an open standard that lets AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT and others) connect to external services. For you it's simple: the assistant "sees" your HADL portfolio and can act on it on your commands.
Which AI should I use? Both work fully. It comes down to your own preference.
Does HADL pay for the AI requests? No, you use your own Claude or ChatGPT subscription. HADL provides the portfolio-side connection.
Can the assistant delete or change anything without asking? No. All write tools require confirmation in the chat, and reading never changes data. The worst a misbehaving AI can do is ask you an extra question.
Does it work with other AI models? For each model you need to check whether it supports the MCP protocol. If it does, it can work with your HADL portfolio.
